The idea for Arch Angels came from a conversation that the three of us founders had one day about five years ago. Two of the founders are podiatrists who have a combined thirty years experience treating patients of all ages for foot problems. Both have seen a fair amount of children, and one of the common things they experienced is worried parents bringing their children in, wondering if their feet were developing correctly because they didn’t look the same as theirs.

The two doctors reassured many parents that their children’s foot development was just fine, but the reason they complained of being tired easily and not wanting to walk long distances was because most of today’s shoes didn’t have an insole that supported the developing arches.

The only option the two podiatrists had to offer their patients were custom orthotics that cost at least $150 and above. There was nothing on the market that they could give these children that was affordable and readily available.

As the wife of one of these docs, and a mother of three young children, I found myself adding to the conversation. Every time I talk to other moms who find out my husband is a foot doctor, they always ask me if I know where they can get insoles specifically designed for kids. I always had to tell them there currently wasn’t any product on the market for kids, but I thought to myself, what a great product that would be to bring to market someday.

So, the three of us put our heads together, and Arch Angels was born.
